The Level A is an internationally recognised qualification in the use of psychometric testing, designed by the British Psychological Society (BPS) to help delegates to make decisions about the appropriateness of the tests available on the open market.
Through this course, delegates will gain the knowledge and practice required to gain the recognised Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing, Level A.
On successful completion of the course, delegates will be entitled to choose, purchase and use all reputable Level A tests from all major distributors.
The content is varied and covers many aspects of test use, from administration to scoring, to diversity issues. Practical examples show how the concepts relate to the workplace. There is a statistical element to the course and many practical exercises, however, no prior knowledge of statistics is assumed. The course covers eight core units including choosing and evaluating tests, administering them and interpreting results. The practical elements include test administration, giving feedback and dealing with candidate queries.
Unit 1: Defining assessment needs
Unit 2: Basic principles of scaling and standardisation
Unit 3: The importance of reliability and validity
