Paul Doherty Occupational Psychologist

Paul Doherty specialises in the assessment and development of individuals at work. As well as concentrating on individual, team and organisational performance his work can also involve addressing work/life balance issues.

Paul’s work includes selection (including sensitive senior appointments), coaching, careers-counselling/guidance and job re-design due to disability. For the past five years a significant amount of his work has been the design and development of assessment centre exercises for talent management programmes (from early talent right up to developing people for CEO level positions), as well as training assessors and assessment centre management. He also has a great deal of experience in the use of psychometrics, particularly personality measures in both a coaching, talent management and selection context.

Paul has worked in a broad range of sectors, including IT, search & selection, management consultancy, outplacement as well as Local and Central Government. Paul also works as an expert witness where he provides expert testimony to the Courts on a range of issues impacting performance at work, including occupational stress, bullying, dyslexia, and sudden acquired disability/ Disability Discrimination Act (drawing up return to work plans). He is a referenced member of the Academy of Experts.

Paul is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. He also has qualifications in stress management training, coaching and counselling. Paul has been an associate of RFL for several years and is a practicing member of the Association of Business Psychologists.
